What an exhausting and wonderful weekend I've had!
As previously mentioned I had the privilege of holding a beginners course in crochet at the adult educational association Folkuniversitetet. The course was new for this year and perhaps I had hoped for more exposure, but enough people applied for it to be held.
I hope that I managed to inspire and teach my students. I learned a lot too! In my previous work (in IT support related issues) I had the opportunity to hold introductory sessions for new colleagues, so presenting information in a logical and easily accessible way was not new to me. It was just the topic that was different.
I find it fascinating to learn how other people think and approach something that is unfamiliar to them. It is important to be open-minded and encourage the student's own way of obtaining knowledge. We all have our own systems. Our brains work differently.
So yesterday I had a rest day. Well, of course I couldn't leave the hooks completely alone. I sat down with a DVD and sewed together some of the Babette's blanket pieces.
I also started experimenting with granny squares, my next project...
