machinery

Overlock03
I got myself an overlock/serger! It's a Janone 644D. Not the most expensive thing on the market, but hopefully it will do the trick. I'm hoping to try it next week, as there isn't really time this weekend.

I got some nice extras as well: scissors and thread. A great starting kit!

Henry Alexander traffic jam
And on a related note, I just have to say that I love this fabric from Henry Alexander called Traffic Jam.

I'm still here. There's just not so much time for knitting at the moment...

flowerbasket

Flowerbasket02
I finished the Flowerbasket shawl for my mother some time ago. The yarn is Finnish Pirkkalanka in a beautiful turquoise colour. She seemed to like it and I hope she uses it sometimes as well.

more yarn!

Syfest04apr2009
Is it possible to buy more yarn, when you already have a lot?

YES!

If you go to Syfestivalen (the fibre fair) at Kistamässan you will find (among others) Karin Öberg's linen yarn and Solkusten's wool, as well as some KnitPicks needles.

So there.

spin me right round

I'm selling my spinning wheel, if anyone is interested. It's an old piece, but works fine. To the untrained spinner (=me) it seems like a fairly quick machine.

almost there!

shalom cardigan

I worked the final rows of the pockets on Friday and now I just have to trim all the ends, sew on a button and maybe block a little. I'll try to take a photo of me wearing the cardigan also. May I say I am mighty pleased with myself!

bye then

Allhemp01
Recently, two local yarns stores have closed. First it was Nysta, who are closing the shop but remaining in business as a wholesaler (for Debbie Bliss in Sweden) and for the occasional café/workshop. The other one is Knitlab, a shop I never really visited that much even though they had some lovely yarn. They were the only ones in Stockholm who had Blue Sky Alpaca and Habu. Their last day is tomorrow, Saturday.

I went there and scored some allhemp3 from Hemp for Knitting. 8 skeins, actually... Looking through Ravelry for inspiration I couldn't find much, but I'm hoping it will work for a Flowerbasket style shawl. Otherwise, I'll have a whole lot of dish cloths on my hands.

some link tips

I've recently been eyeing these two sites for fabulous fabrics. You can create your own, which is then part of a voting process and finally printed, if you're lucky.
